Background

My name is Nick Leftwich, and music has been one of the longest-running constants in my life. I've been playing drums for over 25 years, and somewhere along the way, it stopped being just an instrument and became one of the clearest ways I know how to speak. Drumming has carried me through discipline, grief, growth, frustration, healing, faith, and a whole lot of stubborn "let's try that again until it finally works" moments. I'm a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, content creator, and drum teacher. I've taught myself guitar and piano, released original music, performed live drum content online for years, and I am the current drummer of the band VoidBord (Formerly Kill The Host: 2019) from Augusta, GA. I've built a life around chasing the thing that has always felt like it was placed in me for a reason: The Drums. This site exists because I wanted a home base. Not just another social media page. Not just another video platform deciding what people do or do not see. A real place where students, musicians, supporters, and curious people can find what I do without all the noise.

Why I Teach

I love teaching because I know what it feels like to start with nothing but fascination and a pair of sticks. I love performing because there is something deeply honest about giving everything you have to a song in real time. And I love creating because, to me, music has always felt like proof that something meaningful can be built out of chaos, repetition, pain, joy, and discipline.
